# SteadyKat

> SteadyKat is a free Chrome extension that lets you bookmark exact positions inside AI chat conversations — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, and Poe — and jump back to them instantly. No account required. All data stays on your device.

## What it does

- Injects a visible, draggable pin directly into the AI chat at the bookmarked message
- Stores bookmarks in named projects so you can organise long research sessions
- Each bookmark has a label, color, optional note, and chip-style tags
- Bookmarks can be marked done (todo-list style with strikethrough) to track follow-ups
- Works across tabs: clicking a bookmark opens the correct tab and scrolls to the pinned message
- Pins survive page reloads — the extension re-injects them on next visit
- Visual pin is draggable so you can reposition it after placing

## Dashboard

SteadyKat includes a web dashboard at steadykat.com/dashboard for managing bookmarks outside the browser extension. Features:

- Table and board views across all projects
- Filter by project, tag, bookmark type, date, or AI platform
- Inline editing of titles, notes, and tags
- Archive and trash with restore
- Export and import as JSON backup
- Add manual bookmark records

## Privacy & data

- All bookmarks are stored locally in your browser's extension storage — nothing is sent to any server
- SteadyKat reads only the DOM position of the nearest message element to record scroll position — no conversation content is captured or transmitted
- No account, no sign-up, no email required
- Email notifications (optional notify-me form) are handled by Infomaniak, hosted exclusively in Switzerland — compliant with Swiss FADP and GDPR, outside the US CLOUD Act
- To delete all data: remove the extension or clear its storage in Chrome Settings > Extensions > SteadyKat > Storage
