Applies to the SteadyKat Chrome Extension and website
The short version: SteadyKat stores your bookmarks locally in your browser — never on a server. We collect no account data, see none of your bookmarks, and have no database. Your data is yours, on your device, under your control.
SteadyKat does not collect information on a server. All data you create stays in your own browser. When you save a bookmark, the following is written to Chrome's local extension storage — on your device only:
We do not collect conversation content, prompts, AI responses, keystrokes, clipboard data, or any account information — because there is no account.
We don't. Your data never reaches us. Bookmark data is stored locally in your browser and used solely by the extension to display and navigate your saved items. No data is transmitted to SteadyKat servers, third-party analytics, or any external service.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, AI training, or any purpose other than making the extension work for you.
All bookmark data is stored in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. There is no database, no cloud sync, and no server involved.
Local only
Data is written to chrome.storage.local — accessible only by the SteadyKat extension on your device.
Never transmitted
No bookmark data is ever sent over the network. There is no API endpoint that receives your bookmarks.
No accounts
V1 requires no login. There is no account, no password, no session token, and no server to breach.
Your device, your control
No SteadyKat employee can access your data — not because of access controls, but because it never leaves your machine.
We collect your email address only when you explicitly submit it via our "Notify Me" form. This information is used solely to provide you with the updates you have requested.
Storage Location
Your email is stored in Infomaniak's newsletter service, hosted exclusively in Switzerland. No data leaves Swiss territory.
Legal Protection
By hosting your data in Switzerland, we ensure it remains outside EU and US jurisdictions, shielding it from extraterritorial surveillance laws like the US CLOUD Act.
Compliance
We adhere to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and GDPR standards.
Infrastructure
Infomaniak is ISO 27001 certified, ensuring your email address is handled with the highest level of information security.
Your right to be removed: You have full control over your data. If you wish to be removed from our notification list at any time, email us at [email protected] and we will immediately delete your record from our database.
The extension itself uses no third-party services for bookmark data. The marketing website (steadykat.com) uses the following third-party services:
Vercel
Web hosting
Hosts the SteadyKat marketing site. Standard server logs (IPs, user agents) are retained for 30 days. Your bookmark data is never involved.
Infomaniak
Newsletter service
Swiss-based cloud provider powering the "Notify Me" newsletter form. Email addresses submitted via that form are stored and managed exclusively within Infomaniak's newsletter platform in Switzerland — not subject to EU or US jurisdiction, and outside the reach of the US CLOUD Act. Infomaniak does not access, process, or share your data beyond delivering the notification you requested. Infrastructure is ISO 27001 certified and compliant with the Swiss FADP and GDPR.
Google Analytics
Traffic analytics
Measures anonymous page traffic (pages visited, session duration, country). Sets analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) with a 2-year expiry to distinguish sessions. No personally identifiable information is collected. Data is processed by Google under their Privacy Policy.
Sentry
Error monitoring
Captures anonymous error reports if something goes wrong on the website. No bookmark data or personal information is included in error reports.

Because SteadyKat V1 holds no data on any server, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, erasure, portability) apply to data you control directly in your browser. You already have full access and full control.

The SteadyKat Chrome extension does not use cookies and does not track your browsing.
The SteadyKat marketing website uses Google Analytics, which sets analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to measure anonymous page traffic. These are analytics cookies, not advertising cookies. No remarketing pixels, cross-site tracking, or fingerprinting technologies are used. The website does not serve ads.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. If we make material changes, we will post a notice on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the extension after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
